Basic Sun Salutations Instructions
- Stand with your feet about hip-width apart, arms at your sides, then inhale as you sweep your arms up and over your head, extending them as far as you can toward the ceiling as you gently arch your back.
- As you exhale, bend forward from the waist and place your hands palms-down on either side of your feet (if necessary, you can bend your knees to get into this position). Inhale and step your right leg back behind you, then exhale and step the left leg back to get into plank position.
- Hold plank position, abs tight, as you inhale and exhale slowly.
- Inhale once more, then exhale as you lower your body toward the floor like you’re doing a push-up. Inhale as you extend your arms and push out your chest to stretch your torso.
- Exhale as you lift your hips and push back into the “V” position.
- Inhale and roll up slowly, keeping your arms extended.
